dressing up taste as objective observation is a lifelong, relationship-ruining pet peeve of mine (partly bc i’m pretty obnoxious about not letting it slide 😬😂)

one thing ive learned is that sometimes people dont like something and they will make up reasons to justify that feeling instead of just saying "i thought it was boring, or not funny" or whatever because saying that doesn't make them feel smart

call me crazy, but i thought the ideas of liberty and universal brotherhood as espoused in the Enlightenment were among the West’s most enduring contributions to the very idea of civilization

well, i’d suggest they *do* have a little bit of shame, they just call that feeling “being bullied”

i dunno, it’s not an ironclad opinion, but twerps like Zuckerberg and Musk have really got me thinking maybe we could’ve used one or two more bullies in the mix

one of the fun things about these guys is that, bc their entire world/political view requires infinite doubling down in order to command respect and power, anyone who has ever developed new conclusions after in response to new info is naturally suspect. learning is lying!
