Remember that politicians on the right, despite the support they often enjoy, are generally failures. Hatred, fear, and anger are shallower emotional responses, much easier to generate than love, compassion, and pride. Maybe reminding them of that occasionally might help dent their egos.

Had a great time presenting at The Quartet Symposium today organised by my wonderful colleagues @drelizabethmac1.bsky.social and Dan Varndell! The papers were all incredibly delivered and thought-provoking. I previewed my Utopian Studies paper I'll be giving in Bucharest in a couple of weeks!

Spent this morning giving a talk on Play in Utopia as part of the Design Probes series for Masters students at Domus Academy, Milan. It was a privilege to be invited to talk to the students. Maybe next time in person... just saying a trip to Milan would be a lot of fun! 😉

No combat in this month's DnD session, which is a rarity, but at least I got to unveil my new dice tower which is pretty epic!

@jackewilson.bsky.social listened to your excellent episode on Nineteen Eighty-Four ahead of my teaching it last week. Really informative. Have a great time in the UK. If you ever want a guest for an episode on utopian or dystopian lit at any point let me know!

How is so much of adulthood just saying "I can't believe it has been X length of time since Y"?

Yesterday had my last class with our final year students. It was a lovely send off and it was really gratifying that a number spoke to me directly to thank me for my support throughout the years. It meant a lot. Most importantly, though, one student bought us all Krispy Kremes...
