Many people with spent criminal records will feel the secondary effects of a public pile-on. Many go on to make successful and constructive contributions to society. So, can we please stop before posting to ask: has the Tory party been consistent in its approach to offenders? Do they really care?

The Conservative Party hasn’t even been a party for first chances in my lifetime. 2 questions: what actual work has Mr Bonehill-Paine done with communities and to what actual effect? What has he done publicly to redress and retract his previous harmful behaviour? Those are reasonable concerns.
