The pretty little Longhorn Moth Nemophora metallica with its hugely long antennae and lovely green eyes on its food plant, Field Scabious. We’re lucky enough to get a few of these on our self-sown wild Scabious in the garden each year. #TeamMoth

I’ve just been informed that they’re not eggs on the female’s abdomen but Water Mites called Hydracarina - fascinating!

We went looking for these Speckled Longhorn Beetles, Pachytodes cerambyciformis, at a place we usually see them on Dartmoor (Leather Tor Bridge, Burrator) and found just this one pair. By the looks of it there’ll be more next year! 🤞 #InsectThursday #Cerambycidae #Beetles
