Again, this is why I am utterly disgusted with academic colleagues who write in the Spectator. I don’t care if you’re trying to “reach a broader audience” or “change minds”, you’re further legitimising an outlet that otherwise spews violent hatred against people like me and my friends.

Right-wingers don’t see trans people as a “distraction”, they see attacks on trans people as a key part of their political ideology. Liberals and centrists see trans people as a “distraction”, because they don’t give a shit about the safety, protection or rights of trans people.
