Anybody that actually believes this should remember that his entire administration has been dedicated to thinking of ways to make more money for Big Oil
CNBCTrump says Exxon and Chevron made 'too much money' off high oil prices during Iran conflict: 'I don't like it'

$27 BILLION in profits in just three months, for just two oil companies, while Europe and Canada burn and the world swelters. And Congress wants to shield this industry from lawsuits www.commondreams.org/news/exxon-c...
If Musk is shedding Tesla's China ops to cram Tesla inside of SpaceX, he isn't doing it to benefit the companies or shareholders. You get zero guesses who it really benefits Gift link to @liamdenning.bsky.social 's column for @opinion.bloomberg.com www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...
And the most apt AI bubble comparison isn't 1999 but 2008. That comparison is ... not encouraging. Gift link to @johnauthers.bsky.social column for @opinion.bloomberg.com www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...
I believe we are in a bubble, AI & more broadly. The k-shaped economy where the wealthy are ok and things keep getting harder for the less well off is not sustainable. Basic goods are getting more expensive & many people are really struggling. Trump’s policies are only making fundamentals worse
Five years ago, 80% of New Mexico's energy was generated by coal and gas. Now it's 38%. A massive renewables success story from @climateconnections.bsky.social yaleclimateconnections.org/2026/07/new-...
Grocery prices, the Iran war, diarrhea lettuce: These are the obvious midterm issues. But there's another one that could change lives, and it's how climate gets represented in this vote: the home insurance crisis Gift link to my column for @opinion.bloomberg.com www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...
So Elon is going to dump the profitable part of Tesla and shove the rest of it inside SpaceX and dare investors to eat it like a rotten turducken
The Wall Street JournalSome Tesla executives have been told to prepare for a separation of the China business ahead of a potential SpaceX merger, a person familiar with those talks said. Tesla advisers have discussed possible options for a separation, including a spinoff, sale or closure, another person said.
This is the way: Cincinnati is preparing itself to be climate resilient and also absorb hundreds of thousands of climate refugees www.nytimes.com/2026/07/30/c...

Blue states also provide a net $443 billion in federal taxes per year, while red states take a net $212 billion. The blue states as usual are heavily subsidizing the red, and now aren't even getting government services for their money usafacts.org/articles/whi...
“Trump has rejected disaster aid for Democratic-run states at the highest rate in the 47-year history of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.” Right now people in blue states are basically paying federal taxes as if they’re colonized territories of red states. www.politico.com/news/2026/03...
"With great sorrow, we are able to watch as the Earth is rebuilt into a different, warmer planet." - @andrewdessler.com wrote this about the wildfires and extreme climate events in 2020, but it's even more relevant more than six years later open.substack.com/pub/theclima...
Australia is building its first new oil refinery in 60 years to address its oil-import dependency, when it would be far more sustainable to just *stop using oil*, @davidfickling.bsky.social points out Gift link: www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...
The credit market just keeps gagging on Oracle and SpaceX, proving yet again that cozying up to Trump is not exactly a golden ticket Gift link to my recent column on this: www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...
