Two hot & humid late afternoon hours scanning the big sky at the back of the square. No Black Storks today but 3 Hobbies, 10 Red Kites (6 juvs), Peregrine, Marsh Harrier, 20 Common Buzzards, 5 Kestrels & a Sparrowhawk + Raven & 50 Stock Doves. @linnetincley.bsky.social #cleybirds #norfolkbirding

...as well as the QoSFs, we found a few moths amongst the fleabane & brassicas. Along with Sitochroa verticalis & a lovely Marbled Clover, the highlights were at least two Vestals that would often settle low down & right in front of us for a while. @linnetincley.bsky.social @suffolkmoths.bsky.social
It's not always moths that catch the morning eye ~ this superb Lesser Stag Beetle (Dorcus parallelipipedus) was in the actinic today, perhaps it was the same own that we saw yesterday (but didn't get too many shots of). Absolute unit & v. smart too. @linnetincley.bsky.social @norfolknats.bsky.social
