It may well get voted through, but if the other federations decide to pull out of FIFA it will be a completely meaningless competition and the finances just won’t stack up. Even without just Europe, it becomes pretty pointless.

We’ll no doubt see how strongly UEFA disagrees with Infantino in the next few weeks. If UEFA withdraws from FIFA, as they should, their World Cup proposal is dead in the water - especially as I suspect other federations would follow. A World Cup without European teams is worthless.

Couldn’t agree more with the general point about Kuenssberg. Her interviews - certainly those with Labour politicians - are just one long string of attempts at ‘gotcha’ moments. Personally I think it’s just a cover for a lack of depth and knowledge about the stuff she’s asking about.

No policy that is based purely on prejudice - like most of Reform’s are - is viable or workable. Practical issues are never worked through. It’s just headline-grabbing nonsense for the hard of thinking.

I think many of us grew up in similar circumstances. My dad smoked cigarettes and a pipe, then ‘graduated’ to bloody cigars. Our house and clothes constantly smelled of tobacco smoke, which was pretty unpleasant and led to me being a lifelong non-smoker.

My view too. Lowe is appealing to some imaginary/delusionary group who think everything we used to do was better than now. It wasn’t and it isn’t.
