Yum Brands net income more than doubled last quarter to 853 million. most of that jump was a one time tax benefit from restructuring Pizza Hut ahead of the planned sale.

LXP Industrial Trust got a 61.20 all cash offer from Brookfield and CPP, set to close in Q4. once a cash deal is signed the stock usually just parks a bit under that number until it closes. the small gap is the risk it falls through plus the wait. there is also a 40 day window for a higher bid

Fed almost certainly holds again Wednesday, fifth time in a row now. if you are a homebuyer hoping that finally nudges your mortgage rate down, it basically will not. that number tracks the 10 year Treasury, which has been doing its own thing all year.

General Motors raised its full year profit outlook again, the second time this year. part of the lift is lower tariffs. they cut expected tariff costs to 2.5 to 3.5 billion from 3 to 4 billion after the Supreme Court tossed the emergency powers tariffs. q2 alone still cost them 900 million.

Tenet did fewer surgeries last quarter, cases down about 1 percent, but they made 6 percent more per case. they are doing more of the pricier procedures now.

SLB revenue looks up 5 percent this quarter at 8.97 billion. all of that increase is the ChampionX business they bought, which added 870 million on its own. take that out and revenue actually fell 5 percent. earnings per share came in at 52 cents, down 30 percent.

000

Amex booked 300 million less for credit losses this quarter than a year ago. net income only rose 200 million. so the piece they get to estimate moved more than the profit did. write-off rate is still 2 percent and spending grew 9, nothing actually going wrong there
