Also, Kay met and talked to someone I follow here on Bluesky!!! A popular artist and wildlife photographer a lot of you follow. I didn’t talk to her, but when Kay said who she was, I knew immediately based on one of her prints. Bonkers!

We both know we’re not saving the world, but it’s better than doing nothing. Felt really good to be out, talking to people. Much better than sitting home doomscrolling, which I do too often (5/6)

Every single person we spoke to was anti-datacenter. Every one! Nearly every single person filled out and signed a letter. Probably 60 letters heading to Albany. When our shift was up, four women from the Tonawanda Seneca Nation took our place and were passing out anti-datacenter yard signs (4/6)

We talked to festival goers and passed out pre-stamped letters that people can send to reps demanding more Ai regulation and permanent moratorium on datacenters in NY. People could then sign a letter, and we would mail it on their behalf (the letters were addressed directly to Hochul in Albany (3/6)

The nation has fought this monstrosity for a few years now, and thanks to the NY moratorium on datacenters, it won’t be built this year at least. But the moratorium needs to become permanent, or things could get bad again next year (2/6)

Had a really good day. Kay and I spent the entire day at an outdoor festival, tabling to protest against the awful STAMP datacenter that was scheduled to be built right next to the Tonawanda Seneca Nation (1/6)
