most of the writing in its learning data is bad to mediocre and so statistically it defaults to that. it can make the sentences that are gold and then ruin them by piling more shit on top of them.

So the thing that makes AI writing stand out as shitty more than anything else, more than the repetitiveness, is that it says everything like five times. It throat-clears what it's gonna say, it says it, and then it explains why it said it, and then says it again.

the way I like to phrase this is that I am not a moralist writer and I am not here to impart a lesson or model god behavior. im here to write people fucking up and hurting each other and getting into bad situations where incredibly bad things happen to them and they dont process things well.

I got so much shit for having some teenagers say "dyke" and not be admonished for it in Girlmode. Stopping the scene to correct them would have been the wrong move, and it's not something any of the characters in the story *would* do for a whole lot or reasons, and the *book is about that*
