Down the pub? I am speaking from direct experience. Let’s do away with landlords and the thousands of homes they provide? What a simplistic response to a complex issue. End.

My job? Why do you assume I’m a landlord? I’m not. In the UK 45% of landlords let out only ONE property. I know people in this category. One has moved temporarily through an NHS job move, another has moved out after a breakup. Real world. They can’t rent out their homes and lose money.

Does that include the people who own flats they can’t sell because of cladding problems? Many (45% according to govt) landlords own one property only. They’re not all the Duke of Westminster or a latter day Peter Rachman.

Not all landlords are investors. Or sharks. Some are people who are still paying a mortgage on a property they don’t live in, for a variety of reasons. How would rent controls work without mortgage controls?

How good are AI ‘workers’ at bathing elderly people in care homes, Elon? Or caring for little children in nurseries? Or anything that needs innate human kindness?
