There is surveillance and armed guards, which wasn't there before. They were mostly out of the way but still there are two banks of cameras that were not there.

Today I visited the President's House for the first time since the new panels were installed. The panels about enslaved people are relegated to a separate section and sanitized. #SaveOurSigns

July 4 is a complicated holiday. I recognize the reasons behind the pomp. At the same time I don’t want to look away from the pain. I celebrate the people who have helped to make our entire world and the communities we are in better and more just places to co-exist.
