A really good real life example of boots theory is a comment the King made a few months ago about how people should buy better quality clothes, citing the overcoat he was wearing which he bought for £800 in the 1980s and is still in very good condition.

Lucky bleeders. In my part of London we had a single passing shower. Just enough to produce a nice petrichor smell, but little use for anything else.

It passed briefly here in E11. The garden looking damp and the smell of petrichor, but now it's sunny again. At least I got the washing in before it arrived. Might provide some puddles for thirsty wildlife, but it'll do much else.

One of my Facebook friends (who I originally knew in real life) had actually met Rod Liddle. Of all the people he's ever met he says that Liddle was the most unpleasant.

He did say he was planning to. Maybe he couldn't find 10 people registered in the constituency willing to sign his nomination.

I have read the list, but have only visited the website of the Everyone is God Party, which is very strange and it's still not entirely clear what they stand for other than quite liking nudity.

While I rarely pay much attention to those lists, Pet Sounds and Astral Weeks are both albums I bought because they are often talked about as great records, making it that much more odd that I hadn't considered the concept of a rock 'canon'.

Luddites are much misunderstood, and I can't help but think this is deliberate. They smashed the machines that were turning their highly skilled work into a semi skilled work, and reducing their income accordingly.

I've caught that a few times. It's an odd programme, but probably cheap to make.
