Black Panther is a case where the first is rightfully beloved and everyone seems to flat-out ignore the second one (which I don't hold against Coogler). But overall this batting average feels very low for a studio everyone has been trying to replicate.

The Guardians movies are consistently enjoyed - maybe the most successful next to Avengers whom people seem to go 2 for 4 of. Ant-Man has one, maybe 2 for 3? Captain Marvel has been left behind, can argue 0 for 2. Hulk is 0 for 1. Nobody seems crazy about Fantastic Four. Like what is the "win" here?

Howard Mortman"Cool kids on the Internet. They're doing the cool kid chatter. Some of 'em might be the coastal elites, making fun of how I talk. But let's be real. They're making fun of Michigan. They're thinking they're better than us. Their jokes, their criticism, only make me fight harder." -- Haley Stevens
I don't think I completely agree with this in regard to The Odyssey (Sinon is a victim of Odysseus and his story is the paramount emotional thread), but this critique does nail my issue with Oppenheimer basically perfectly and it's interesting this happened back-to-back.
EMILY WILSON7. The film centers Odysseus's guilt over his war crimes, but never shows us the POV of his victims, and instead glorifies the perpetrator for feeling bad about himself. I found this unsatisfying ethically and worse, imaginatively, because Damon's character is given only one mood (Troubled).

He's quite possibly one of the worst people to have ever lived.
I just can't get over the fact that... like... they made a Fantastic Four movie last year and didn't use the Fantastic Four villain that's a danger to the Avengers in the new Avengers movie. Like I just can't understand the mental math of that.
carter84Plus, the fact that infinity war and endgame had a decade worth of buildup to it. Not all of those phase one movies are perfect, but most of them are at least watchable, and it felt like there was a real sense of progression and escalation with the Thanos stuff. Now we have Kan-I mean Dr. Doom
