Drinking Nikka Straight From the Barrel and watching Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I'll probably feel sad and nostalgic and wistful in a couple hours but what else is a Friday night good for?

One thing I didn't expect from The Odyssey was tedium, but boy did it drag in sections. Really could have used a pared down script. There are some good ideas in there but everything is spread so thin it doesn't quite hold together. It did make me want to read it again though.

I feel strange saying The Bear is the best tv show I've ever seen so I'll say it's in the top 5 but I think it's the best tv show I've ever seen. This final season was an absolute start-to-finish masterpiece.

Saw Disclosure Day. I liked it. Spielberg's religious opus. Not just about having faith, but the content and purpose of that faith. I think it's his deepest film, though I'm not sure it totally holds together.

Watched Sirat. I'm not sure I've ever seen a film like this one. An absolute thrill.

Criterion is gonna do a Kubrick box set....a complete Kubrick box set. Guess I won't buy that standalone Eyes Wide Shut after all. I'll have enough dupes of his stuff as it is.

The Furious lived up to the hype.

My niece painted this and it gives me a none too small amount of joy.

The more times I watch a replay of that OG put-back I think, "is this the best basketball play I've ever seen?"

Games like this always make me feel bad for the people (non-celebrity versions) who paid a ton of money for a ticket.

I don't know anything about the Cregger stuff, but the interview part down there blew my mind. I wanted to write, was ok at it, but never enjoyed it. I really like editing though. I never considered allowing myself to write crap so I could edit my own work. I may have to give this a try.

The showtimes this weekend for The Furious in my area are very sparse. My local has just 2 Saturday shows and they are dubbed English. Luckily there's a non-dubbed showing I'll be able to get to across town on Saturday morning.

An interesting filmography in that he's got several stone cold classics and a few masterpieces as well as stuff in the mediocre at best range. And a few real stinkers.

I've never seen Wild at Heart. Yet for some reason today seems like a good day to watch Wild at Heart. So here I go.
