You are 100% wrong. I won't argue the generation in terms of making electricity issue but batteries do work exactly like a savings account...deposits and withdrawals.

Batteries...yup, been around for a long time...when demand exceeds alt power output, batteries discharge into the home/grid. Just like a savings account: run low in your checking account, transfer funds. When you have a surplus, transfer back to savings.

May want to check your data sources. There are solar installations all over the state feeding into the grid. What's not used in one locale, it's used in a more densely populated county/urban area.

Battery back up fills that role. You may want to look into that. Maybe that took into account rooftop generators who use what they make, return surplus to the grid and store a preset reserve quantity of power. It works for us in SoCal.
