FYI, the Economist is owned by the very rich. Praising billionaires is a little like praising kings and queens of old. Elaborate narratives elevating their greatness no matter how mad, bad, or incapable they were or are. The rich ask for our gratitude, & ultimately our continued subservience.

Numbers to confirm what most people sense. No wonder people feel powerless and distrustful. So often the Albanese government has gone against public opinion e.g. more than 3-in-5 Australians support a gas tax, 3-in-4 want a ban on gambling ads and 79% hold a negative view of Israel.

If you don't believe that the big end of town donates millions to both major parties out of the kindness of their hearts... And you want change You need to aim for a majority crossbench of independents and Greens; since neither major party will change the rules.
