My insurance won't pay any prescription costs till I hit my deductible. Drug costs are higher here in the US, too. That is after my employer and I both pay a shit load for their "insurance". I just had an appt with a specialist that was a little over $900, and insurance paid $137. I'd trade w/you.

It's not complicated, and it shouldn't be better for those who are well off. Other countries have been doing it for many decades. It may not be perfect, but there is a reason so many social democracies rank high for happiness. We could do the same here.

I've experienced healthcare living in Canada & Europe. The first was Switzerland, where I was seen within 30 min in the ER! Zero cost, including the meds they provided. Why do we accept our shitty system? Why is it tied to a job? Why can we lose our home if we get sick? Where is the outrage?
