right after we lost Lily i did a lot of walking, about all I could do to get thoughts in a linear direction. this was but one interaction with drivers i dealt with still have the photo of the vehicle in my phone with “if i am shot find the owner of this car”. occasionally see him around the hood

had an alleged off duty cop, after being upset I was upset about him almost hitting me in a crosswalk while he turned left, go two blocks out of his way to yell at me and threaten to shoot me, it would be so easy to make it look like it was my fault because he was the law totally normal 🤔

imagine running for office against a safe streets/transit efficiency ordinance passed into law 48-0 after 3 children were killed that has been shown to reduce crash, injury, death stats while shop revenue, transit, cycling numbers increase. that’s what we are going to see this year in Chicago

like the rubes that want to overturn Chicago Complete Streets saying that it would not pass today. sad we have to sacrifice children to get good policy passed, then watch folks sacrifice common sense and decency to fight back for their convenience good policy is hard to pass and worth fighting for

you don’t need to sass me my friend, I have zero desire to ride on Sheridan road. but a 4 to 3 conversion would do wonders for that dangerous route DLSD reimagined would be a boon to that stretch too. It’s drivers that are creating the dangers that cause bikes/scooters to use the sidewalk

guess Sheridan Road pedestrian gripes rate higher than cyclists desires for safer streets.

this odyssey is going to take forever

When folks gripe about new transit, bike, pedestrian infrastructure I’m simply going to respond with “It’s the law, passed in 2023, that states that CDOT has to build these things in their resurfacing plans.” tired of the community meetings and Alder prerogative getting in the way of this work
