This is absolutely true, and I would add that this bigotry is already causing problems for cis women in that the GC definition of femininity is so narrow that it is not only leading to the policing of bodies but the policing of looks.

Growth in asset prices means that’s no longer true: even a lifetime of striving doesn’t offer a realistic prospect of feeling you’ve “made it”.
Of course it’s complicated. Most things in life are complicated. But nobody wants to hear that. They want the easy answers, even if those answers are wrong, and especially if those answers don’t require a lot of effort from them to solve said complication.
