When you think about it, it’s pretty wild the journey our letters go on after we pop them in a postbox… 😄📮🐅🦚💭

Huge thanks to Swanage Carnival and everyone who came along to our stand today to send letters and postcards. It was wonderful! A letter from Axel Scheffler even arrived at THLAS HQ while we were having fun with all his beautiful stampers! A very special day had by all! 😁🎪✉️🎉

In cheerier news, delighted to find some Wild West themed stickers for this year’s Swanage Carnival... Hoping the two local celebrity recipients like the postcards and pop down to join us! 🤠🎪📮🤞

#OTD Martha Brown would stand trial at Shire Hall leading to her tragic end on 9th August 1856, 170 years ago. Thomas Hardy was in the crowd. It’s believed she inspired Tess of the D’Urbervilles. A letter from Lady Fellowes confirms no-one is sure of her final resting place. 😔💐

Melanie always makes me chuckle with her Royal Mail printed labels. Let’s all be the custodians of the most beautiful letters! (So touched by the delightful contents too) 😁📦✉️❤️

The lovely thing about letter writers is they’re not after fame or recognition or awards or “Oo, look at me!” They just quietly go about cheering people up by sending letters or cards or nice gifts through the post that only writer and recipient know about. #DeskGallery ☺️✉️✨

Chuffed to have only 4 pages of the road atlas that don’t have a member of The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society on. Every time someone joins I circle them on. It’s truly fascinating seeing where everyone is dotted about, and the best education in geography ever! 😄✉️🗺️
