Wren and I finally got to play some splatoon raiders yesterday. We had bought the game when it came out but then life happened all of a sudden and we had no time to touch it. But now...we've almost beat the main campaign together and it is ;; so SO fun. ugh. I love splatoon. I gotta make fanart...

After three very stressful days, Grub went to sleep with a full tummy and a warm bed, but he didn't wake up this morning.

his 1pm weight! 72 hours with us 🫩 eating well...gaining weight. Stinky. (he chose the angle, not me)

I didn't think it was possible but... the grub is getting -uglier- (day 1 -> day 3)

weighed the grub before his first feeding this morning, for more accurate tracking. This is his empty-gut weight, as opposed to the full-gut weight. The fact that he is still measuring 1 gram up from his first full-gut weight [and only 1 gram under yesterday's full-gut weight] is a very good sign.

The grub ate its biggest meal yet, and then passed out for the night. [[Dread Pirate Roberts voice]] Good night, Grub. Good work. Sleep well. You'll probably be dead in the morning.

24 hours later, this is better than I expected. The grub is actually putting on weight.

Wren woke me up at 5am "guess who's hungry!!" I'm...what? how??? 😭 anyways, after 14 hrs, Grub is eating again. I fed him very slowly over the course of an hour, as much as he would beg for. He ate a lot. And now he is digesting.

I have not been able to get him to perk up, and his condition has quickly declined. Keeping him warm and under observation tonight, but I think he's gonna leave us before morning 😞 I'm sorry little guy. we both did our very best. I'm glad you're at least warm and snug and loved.

Grub stopped food begging about 2 hrs ago. I've been trying to keep him hydrated by brushing a bit of water against the corner of his mouth and letting capillary action do its thing. But I think it's over for this little guy.

get weighed, idiot Grub has been with us for 24 hrs now and is currently 1 AAA battery large. That places him at 2-3 days old...
