I was trying to figure out how old my Oster waffle maker is...and remembered that it was a house-warming present in August 1984. Compared to your toaster, it's almost a baby.

My 45-year-old Revere Ware kettle works just fine. So does my 40-year-old Le Creuset enameled cast iron dutch oven. I don't know that I'd buy anything but enameled cast iron from Le Creuset. It's how they started and what they do best.

Reminder to me to take very good care of my 40-year-old Pyrex baking pans.

I picked up a Tramontina enameled cast iron braiser at Costco a year or two ago and love it. It may not last as long as a Le Creuset, but I'm old and won't be needing it 40 years from now.

My new (2 years old) KitchenAid food processor is a pathetic shadow of its predecessor. I've still got the old one, and I'm going to figure out a way to get it repaired.

I have. And it was memorable in its way. Jealous of your Green Zebras. I planted one that turned out to have mislabeled, so I have an okay red tomato instead of a delicious green one.

I'm a mite bitter about Sun Gold. It's one of my favorite tomatoes, and I planted one in late March. Turned out it was mislabeled. It's a perfectly nice yellow cherry tomato, but it's not Sun Gold.

Totally! But I'm still using my 1960s and '70s Pyrex and Corningware, so it's not a problem for me. But my 1970s Revere Ware is showing its age, alas.

So do women. I've never burned my fingers getting a bagel out of the toaster. Honestly, I'm surprised it's possible.
