It's wild really the people ostensibly on the left are like: "If a left wing politician can't avoid being attacked by the British media they shouldn't be in politics" and then a week later every British journalist is saying some variation of "miss u fascist paedophile, gone too soon."

Both Jimmy Saville and Rod Liddle were right wing, former BBC employees and paedophiles. People who're upset Rod Liddle is being criticised need to explain if they think it's ok to criticise Jimmy Saville.

Rod Liddle's death is a really awkward situation for liberals. Libs tone police because they do not want to concede there is ever a situation where we peasants can criticise our betters. They're going to be forced to defend his monstrous views. We must make explicitly clear how awful they were.

On the plus side, anyone modernising Dickens has a great example of how the villains would talk today.

Rod Liddle was an omni-bigot and a domestic abuser. The world is objectively better off without him in it. Any Comfortable mourning his death or whinging "he was nice to *me*" should reflect on why a monster thought highly enough of them to be pleasant to them.

Say what you will about Michael Moore but in Stupid White Men nearly 30 years ago he made the point that the only way problems will get addressed, the only way the marginalised will get support, is if powerful white men experience those problems directly.

"You have to be polite to us while we kill you" at this point seems inadequate, too generous to Comfortables. They'll openly talk in favour of mass murder for the most minor of benefits to themselves and then be so cross when the peasants say they don't want to be slaughtered.

It is "funny" that Le Conte will claim Bluesky is a hivemind when it disagrees with her but was more than happy to take all the likes from her fellow liberals on here when she stated she prefers interacting with fascists to the left online.

This would be a lot more convincing argument if Goodall and all his chums weren't complete supporters of austerity who will absolutely support Burnham's looming patriotic austerity. Lockdowns were inconvenient for them, that's the only reason why they're critical.

As I've said before, it truly is wild that sitting cabinet members, including until a couple of weeks ago the *justice* minister, can be officially friends of an entity openly committing genocide without any questions being raised.

I have sympathy with the intent of what Kaveney was saying re: trans people being careful and calculated in a time of extreme hostility towards them. But her simple comparisons can just as easily be used to advocate for violence: E.G. Who secured the Good Friday agreement, NICRA or the IRA?
