A very good pup!

Additionally, while I'm not a very squeamish person overall, I get incredibly squicked out by horror movies where someone's face gets torn off, or mashed in, or what-have-you. Eurgh. Nope. Give them their face back.

Tempted to do the same. The algorithm feels so slimy.

I love doppelgängers! For me, I think the worst and scariest things are incredibly mundane. Parasites. Decay. Fire. Things that you can't reason with once you're facing them down.

The vintage stores in Edinburgh are great!! 🖤

My preorder of The Red Sacrament also arrived and I can't wait but I need to finish The Quick first

Thinking about that one time on tumblr when I brought up neopastoralism in coffee shop AUs and the like and someone called me a fascist

Absolutely would be there in a heartbeat.

(Luckily when I emailed they agreed to extend the collection window.)

Also legally not great? Landlords have to provide at least 24hrs notice and arrange suitable times with a tenant for maintenance to be done. They can't just let themselves in.

I just went off on one this evening about this re: medical horror, which is a genre I think disabled people write better than anyone (and a genre where disabled people are often exploited for shock value when we aren't the ones doing the storytelling).

120

Ooh no you're right, that's seriously spooky. See also: people who heal by hurting others...

010

1000% this. In addition to further othering an already marginalised group, bad medical horror is also at this point just... deeply overdone. Like can we really not think of anything else? (This is why disabled writers write the best medical horror imo.)
