A state sales tax break for data centers, once estimated to cost $15M a year, could soon cost Kentucky billions of dollars due to much larger new hyperscale data centers. No data center in Kentucky has qualified for these breaks yet, and other states are carefully reassessing similar incentives.

In 1969, the Black Panthers launched their legendary Free Breakfast Program for Children. In a 1969 Senate hearing, the federal school lunch program administrator admitted, "I don’t think [the gov't] wanted to be outdone by a community-based organization, especially the Panthers." Learn more here:

"After disproportionate contact with law enforcement, unaccommodating courts, and unequipped jails, almost half a million people with disabilities end up locked up in state prisons on a given day — accounting for 40% of state prison populations ... and 50% of women's state prison populations."
From hearing to vision-related disabilities, incarcerated people have much higher rates of disability compared to the general US adult population.
