This reminds me of first year zoology where we had a serious group project to design an animal and one of our group members insisted on making it breathe fire.

5-6 weeks since first detection in Australia on 20 June to the first suspected mass mortality event. The first detection in AoNZ was a kahu on 9 July. Which confirms local transmission was already taking place. I'd say we are at a maximum 14 days behind Australia for a mass mortality event.

So, is _now_ a good time for us to see all the wildlife risk assessments and response plans? Asking for lots of ecologists and other experts. First Australian mass mortality event suspected as deadly bird flu virus rapidly escalates among native birds www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...

I disrupted my business by asking Claude how to make more money and Claude suggested getting more customers to make the number go up but there are no customers because everyone is poor due to government austerity please help I spent all my money on tokens.

This is the way. Whatever power the government thinks they have they can't stop communities working together.

This seems like a weird argument to make when put up alongside National, ACT and NZ First's social conservatism, cuts to science funding and focus on roads at the expense of everything else. Who is really looking backwards here?

I'm not sure how more fucking tone deaf you can be. "Why do we feel we are getting nowhere? Q: My husband & I are in our mid-40s. We have about $200K each in our KiwiSavers, & our home is mortgage-free. We also have a rental property. We’re renting it out for $650 a week & we need to top it up."

Maybe it's time to sell the rental, clear the debt, have some funOPINION: There is a lot to be said for picking the type of investment you prefer.www.nzherald.co.nz

"Large īnanga runs boosted the abundance of eels in the catchment to far higher levels than typically occur in coastal streams that don’t have large downstream wetlands."

Wetlands are crucial food baskets for NZ’s native eels – new researchWetlands are increasingly appreciated for their role in flood prevention and as carbon sinks. But they also act as a crucial food source for the wider catchment.theconversation.com

Tough call but I'd probably have to go with Say it Ain't So Undone - Sweater Song in very close second. www.vice.com/en/article/w...

We just filled up our new (to us) hybrid for the first time. $70. Our old non-hybrid car was costing us, around $140 a week.

Incredible stuff from Avalon Nursery.

Because this stuff annoys me so much here it is in graphical form. If you surveyed the true population 100 times, 95 of those times the result would fall somewhere in the two areas shown below. This absolutely does not mean that National is "in first place."

Andy McKay

So no difference between them then. "A Curia Poll commissioned by the Taxpayers’ Union and obtained by the Herald shows National in first place, polling 30%, and the Greens five points behind on 25%." "The poll was of 400 people and has a margin of error of +/- 4.9% at the 95% confidence level."
