Rip City Not Rip Off

Tim: So you don't feel that Tom Dundon should have to put in a couple hundred million on this thing? Lieber: "I mean I, I, it was not something, it was something that we had sort of talked about, um, it was not something that was overwhelmingly needed at the time.

The modz on city council are suddenly realizing that the transit service cuts they averted their eyes to when the interstate was open are going to make a lot of people late for work when the interstate is closed this fall. Someone should have done something! www.youtube.com/live/UEa09IX...

Credit to @councilorclark.bsky.social for advocating for a transit impact fee on autonomous vehicles (Waymo). Should have been suggested a long time ago!

@pbotinfo.bsky.social is at this public works committee saying that no transformative elements on W Burnside rebuilt b/c the rebuild will be phased. I’ve played this game before. Repaving will happen, in 5 years when no one’s paying attention the transformative elements will get quietly cut.

Good news everyone, “Tall building is demons” will find plenty of representation this November

Safer Portland is calling for the state to count signatures for their Pro-Cop ballot measure, rather than the city, which to me smells like desperation. The Police Union Chief calling for an elections official to be fired is a new low IIRC. www.oregonlive.com/politics/202...

@tinakotek.bsky.social look!!!! One of the more enlightened ~~~***Sun Belt Cities***~~~ is critical of a public stadium deal. Listen to them!

J.C. Bradbury

More of this, please. Elected representatives who are unwilling to give-in to stadium demands. The Rays have a perfectly fine place to play in Tampa. There's no reason to build a new venue across the bay so that the billionaire owner can get richer.
