Republicans are currently non functioning as a party. With or without one Senator not much changes. Forcing this issue puts them on the back foot and waste their resources. Viewing political fights solely as a head count in Congress is whats stupid. There used to be a narrative to work.

I disagree. The law is not clear. Where there is ambiguity there is room to act. I think forcing the Reps to deal with the media circus and financing an extra election is better than McConnell being incapacitated.

If they could impeach him they would already have done it. They don't need this as a reason.
