X-Files: S7. E4. Millennium. This was much better. Yes, Mulder and Scully seem to have had character tweaks but when they work together so well, who cares. I'm going to have to dig my Millennium boxset out. I quit that early as I found it incredibly repetitive.

X-Files: S7. E3. Hungry. A forgettable episode. Mulder and Scully are the X-Files. If they don't feature you have something akin to a Tales From The Crypt. The story needs to be excellent to keep its head above water. This sank.

X-Files: S7. E2. Amor Fati. There where elements I enjoyed here but there was so much OTT stuff. Mulder alien/hybrid brain tissue transplanted into Smoking Man? WTF? Did I miss an hour of exposition? Or do I just forgive the brazen convenient plotting?

X-Files: S7. E1. The Sixth Extinction. I enjoyed the mysticism and the alien plotline. Not for religious reasons but I'm not so sure about the biblical content. It felt obvious. How did Mulder go from secure unit to being wheeled about carefree? The extreme melodrama is awful

Rewatched Evil Dead Rise and enjoyed it much more second time around. It could do without the heavy callbacks and felt more like a series of setpieces tied together with a paperthin plot. It still reminded of Demons 2 but felt more of an Evil Dead experience than I recall.

I read the first 50 pages of Richard Laymon's 'The Woods Are Dark" and have to say it is so close to perfection You are dropped straight into the action. It plays out like the very best 80's B-Movie. Completely bonkers! I just wish Lander didn't have these incestuous? thoughts

X-Files: S6. E22. Biogenesis. Now this was better. Back to shady governments, secrets, lies and betrayal Not sure on Mulders link to the artifact but there's enough going on to let that by. Aliens are seemingly responsible for a hell of a lot. I'm intrigued how this plays out.

X-Files: S6. E21. Field Trip. How have we got to Episode 21 and no one at the studio said 'hang on, this is all bit shit, isn't it?' Thankfully there's only one episode of this season left. It had better be good.

X-Files: S6. E20. Three of a Kind. A completely pointless episode. I guess it had its moments and was saved by Scully acting very out of character. A fun, watchable and pretty much redundant episode.

X-Files: S6. E19. The Unnatural. This was glorious. It very loosely has links to the main mythology but it's essentially one of the best standalone episodes so far. Vile rascism aside, this was fun, heartwarming and simply decent storytelling.

X-Files: S6. E18. Milagro. What is going on with this sixth season? The drop off has been almost seismic. Dare I say this episode was pretentious twaddle. Anderson was excellent throughout which is incredible based on the source material.

X-Files: S6. E17. Trevor. Another average episode with some decent moments. Why did the story try and force me to feel empathy for Pinker? The bloke is an arsehole regardless of having a kid. Pinker's abilities were poorly executed and again Mulder solves things out of nowhere
