People called Pollock sloppy too, that don't impress me much...

LAMP stack: I once interviewed for a job where they tried to low-ball me I scrunched my nose when they said the code base was PHP "Facebook uses PHP!" ...you definitely aren't Facebook, you couldn't even tell me what the business does -- maybe "free apps"

A startup CEO once told me a good company is like a table where the legs are each department; they have to be equal for it to be stable. And the whole time I'm thinking "okay, but lamps can have legs too..." I'm pretty sure Animal Farm was a cautionary tale!

Q: Why does Minnesota have the best startup scene? A: What do you think a cap table is? Loggers and counters, all the way down

I don't want Barbie 2; stop with all the sequels. I want a second season of Pan Am!

Tech debt has to be the most abused metaphor in the world. Stop using it around finance bros. All they hear is "leverage".

Help I don't know much about security - do black and white hat hackers collaborate?

You can have soft serve or play softball, but skills are sharp!

Software engineers: "You have to go slow to go fast." Physicists: "Pretty sure you have to go fast to make a large metal transport take flight."

I just mowed the lawn while thinking about how I saw my first real life lawn-mowing robot the other week. Stop making robots to do my favorite jobs.

I learned how to build a website from *teachers* who were using open tools to make technology more accessible in their classrooms. They didn't hate devices, and computers are not the problem with edtech...

This article frames tech as a battleground between parents and schools. But I was chatting the other day with a school official who's leading an effort to shift her district away from device-based learning, and she told me--every teacher she's talked to is on board. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/29/t...

One of my former neighbors got upset about a truck parked in front of his house, and another neighbor came over and projected a yule log onto the side of it (it was December). There may have been caroling? This is a way better solution than prohibition, imo. Think of all the seasonal possibilities!

Matt DeLong

Suburbanite furious about people parking in front of their house but also doesn't want the potential solution to apply to them www.startribune.com/neighborhood...

Having been raised by a mom who wouldn't let me do cheer bc "it used to be the only option for girls" when she was growing up, truly so pissed Title IX is being used to discriminate against trans athletes with bs lawsuits to punish our state for caring about people.

OutFront Minnesota

The federal Department of Justice has sued the state of Minnesota, alleging that our state has violated Title IX by allowing transgender athletes to compete alongside their peers, and allowing trans students to use bathrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities free from discrimination.

Still recovering from the number of entitled white dudes repeating "let's bring back civility!!!!" in DFL politics, in between statements that would be considered socially inappropriate if made by their opponents.

THIS! Like, teach them to knit! Build tiny ships in bottles! Solder a keyboard! Frost cookies to look like cartoon characters! If you're really worried about fine motor skills, let's not confine the youth to only one obsolete art...

David Brauer

“We need to teach fine motor skills” have you watched kids type on a teeny screen
