I'm nearly 40. I'm fat and nominally female. I've been on ten million different psych meds before we found what worked. I've had drug interactions and bad reactions. I'm allergic to fucking Asenapine and learned the hard way. Why WOULDN'T I know all this? Are we expecting anyone ELSE to give a damn?

Pros of today's doctor's appointment: He took detailed notes. He didn't try to blame my weight. He believed me when I told him about my medication history and agreed when I said valium should be a last resort Cons: the tone he used for "wow, you are very well versed in medications and side effects"

Our bodies can't tell the difference between intentionally dieting and starvation, so this shouldn't be a controversial statement It probably will be, because people lose their minds about this stuff

Not even gonna call it "diet culture" anymore. It's starvation culture, all the little cultural messages that whisper to us, "Maybe you should try starving yourself, just a little. Just in the morning. In the afternoon. After Xpm. Just try not eating when you actually want or need to eat."

I have an almost permanent hip bruise, because even though my desk has always been in the same place, at the same heigh, my hips have beef with it or something

The one-sided headache with eye pain, neck pain, and for some reason eyebrow pain is still there. Had this a month ago and it went away without intervention, but lasted a week. Not thrilled that it's back. Maybe it's for the best my blood donation appointment got cancelled, I can take painkillers

We're very diligent about medicating her, but I suspect the metacam (kitty naproxen) isn't going to be enough if she makes it another year or two. Of course, with cats when they can't look after themselves and quality of life declines we have humane solutions. It's a thornier issue with people

Sooty's claws have been clipped. Hopefully we can go a few weeks now without her getting tangled in a blanket and freaking out. She's legit like a weasel having a panic attack when it happens, which isn't great for a cat with arthritis. She's now carefully washing all the bits the vet touched.

I've been a registered donor since 2005, and in those 21 years only donated 24 times, because my health hasn't been up to it or other things have gotten in the way. Little bit guilt inducing, when I can and don't. They send you a text now, with where your blood has been used, which I think is cool

Blood donor appointment got cancelled; apparently staff shortages mean they can't see as many people today, so they're prioritising O- and B- folks, who are, speaking in terms of versatility, more use to the health service as a whole. Donation number 25 will be made August 21st instead
