Rounding out my evening with some true indie work, The Consumed by @uppermindink.bsky.social. He nailed the mythological, almost allegorical tone of the story. It was simple in the way of elegance, and the art is absolutely phenomenal. What an amazing talent!

No surprise after Canary that @urbanbarbarian.bsky.social can strike that old west chord with the very first page, and with @davidferracci.bsky.social, I could pinpoint the whole cast immediately, from just their faces.

Read issue 1 of The Patron out of @ignitionpress.bsky.social! Great job establishing a "no one is safe" feeling, perfect dramatic irony with the titular patron, and fantastic end twist to set the hook for the rest of the series. Great pick-up this week from @cjward.bsky.social and John J. Pearson.

Re-emerging onto this app so I am held accountable for actually reading the comic books I buy every week. It's one hell of a TBR backlog, so brace yourselves for a lot of 300 character reviews.

Just finished Ram V and Evan Cagle's "Dawnrunner." A beautiful read, especially when it seems like the horrors beyond your own walls require a ten-storey mech to even begin to fight, and a wonderful reminder that all those fights begin from within. Cagle definitely impresses, as does the whole team.

Just read issue 2 of #RoboWolf and all I can say is... @deadgremlincomix.bsky.social's brain is a wild, overstimulating, and confusing place to be, and I want to live there.

Despite my general aversion to horror movies (I am a wimp), just saw Trick 'r Treat on the big screen and had such a good time! I'm so glad I went in totally blind-- I felt every twist like a lollipop in the gut and was blinded by enthusiasm as the threads wove together. Can't recommend enough!
