i would prefer they make they sillier stuff legendary because that means they get to be more creative with audio and vfx. when they made wanda's year 1 outfit a legendary the audio choices felt completely arbitrary and silly because there wasn't any creative vision there

honestly though i've actually really enjoyed watching other people in my friend circles play it, mostly because i don't have to be the one doing the first hour of dicking around waiting for things to start happening, but also the reactions are fun

that being said even though the pacing is clunky and the horror can feel a little shaky at times i do think the game hits the ground running as soon as you pass a certain marker in the story which makes the slow burn almost worth it

i do think it's neat that the game lets you complete the entire natdex through a casual playthrough and has the QoL there for that sorta thing to work but i don't think anybody is doing that intentionally. the rom is designed so that someone can play it normally if they want to

deltarune weird route is very intentionally designed so that you can intuit what you have to do to run it but this game doesn't really understand that so it has an entire guide you need to constantly be referencing, which is interpreted as an unfiction but feels very ham-fisted

that being said i do think more fanhacks should delve into very avant-garde stories centered around the 90s rumor mill. i feel like there's a shockingly untapped market theree

i guess "pretty good" is kinda overselling how i feel. it's just good. i like it. but i feel it's weighed down so hard by its overdependence on its influences and generally i think playing MyHouse.WAD gave me impossibly high standards for these kinds of art pieces
