((Will note, it worked. I have had many femme characters blow kisses and dote at her. The other day, someone called her "Sir" and my day was absolutely made.))

And I mean, he wasn't wrong, exactly. I just wasn't actually dead because of it. Just, uh, not really all still here either. I guess that covers the last bit of my teenage years...

At first he thought I found out about the Resistance, but no one he knew had seen me. And that was about the time things started goin' down with Dalamud... literally... so he started wonderin'. And when that got, uh, resolved, and I still didn't come back... he had this feeling he knew why.

I spent a lot of time wandering around by myself anyway, but Ardent noticed something was off. Like I'd gone from being mad to being scared, but was still hiding it behind mad. Spent all day outside the village, came home to sleep a little, left again at dawn. Then one day I just didn't come home.

So I wasn't happy with how things were, I wanted to do something and didn't know what or how, and between that and the fact he kinda isolated me so I wouldn't find out about the Resistance, I spent a lot of time sulkin' and takin' out frustrations on the dirt in the fields. 'Till things got weird.

I hadn't really grasped the whole imperial situation as a kid, never asked questions about it. Then they came and took Da away, and *then* I started askin' questions... but no one wanted to talk about it. Ardent tried to keep me from knowin' bout the Resistance - he knew I'd run off and join 'em.

...Gonna get whiplash considering this's what I've been spendin' most of my time in lately...

((To be fair that was not *exactly* a misreading, eh? :D But there was definitely some misunderstanding going on!))

((Also amusing for multiple reasons: I had played the mobile game Record Keeper, so in the first Waking Sands scene, I was like "I know everyone here - except the creepy guy with the hooded robe, who wasn't in FFRK. Oh he's TOTALLY working with the Ascians and going to betray us." ...So, uh...))

((I ranted at some friends who had convinced me to try FF14 because THAT WOULD TAKE FOREVER, WHY WOULD THEY REQUIRE THAT and they were like "wait what?" and asked what *exactly* the message said. One of the rare moments I really related to Zeph... both pretty dense. XD))

((Anyone she actually got involved with would probably have to also be okay with constantly being on the move, or with her disappearing for weeks without warning. Which is why it's really too bad she and Estinien can't really get anything going due to her being gay, they'd work well otherwise. XD))

((For the most part she doesn't try to overcome it. The couple instances where a "brief casual thing" suddenly became more serious than she expected sort of scared her, since she doesn't believe she's "partner" material, just "fun weekend, moving on!" material.))

((For that matter, my faves are my faves because I think they're interesting, not because I would date them. Though I will concede that Hien is pretty freaking hot by my standards in addition to being a very compelling character...))

((Also just approved the proof for the non-WoL sticker I drew/ordered, and I *so* want to share that pic on the non-WoL account but I also want to surprise people with it, lol.))

I might be a little more okay with the girly stuff than I used to be, but that's WAY too much. 'Sides, if Estinien saw me in that, he'd laugh his arse off. ...Me and him are about the same size. I should tell him I made this suit for him. :D Can see the look on his face already...

((...forgot I logged out still wearing that earlier, logged back in to restock retainers, and a couple folks in Sapphire Avenue seemed to be some combination of charmed and/or confused by this. So I played along for a bit. :D))

((My actual fave is probably And I Am the Dead Man's Son, but that would be because it's the product of so, SO many years of lore/thematic refinement before writing it. It also has spoilers for the game and I suspect is incomprehensible to those who have neither played it or read the series.))

((But of all works? That's a bit harder to pin down. But as I'm most proud of and invested in the 600k words I've written for my OTP (archiveofourown.org/series/3668), I have to go with Burning Bridges(archiveofourown.org/works/59941/...). I had no idea what I was spawning. ))

Yeah, doesn't seem as promising. Back to gatherin' ice shards! :D
