I’m 74 and I shiver at some of the stuff my gran used to eat and drink. Tea with condensed milk and three sugars, for a kick off.

“If your grandmother doesn’t recognise it, don’t eat it.” My gran never saw a mango or an avocado, or any tropical fruit, and certainly never saw, say, coriander or cavalo nero. She did used to eat Findus crispy pancakes and Birds Eye potato waffles, and sugar sandwiches on sliced white bread.

A guy became leader of a council and thought it’d give him glorious power without any comeback. I bet he he’s had a few harsh words for council leaders in the past.

Scrambled eggs stirred every 15 seconds or so until they are exactly how you like them are more than pretty decent.
