About to walk out of my bedroom, but there appears to be some kerfuffle right outside...

My favorite daily online game is going to the internet and trying to not get pissed off to the point it fucks up my whole day.

Using AI for "research" makes all the information suspect. This is also something I'll never understand abt AI users: If I was someone who actually believed in the "info" ChatGPT mashed together, what would I need you for? Research AND writing done by ChatGPT? Why would I need the middle man?

I finished Mood Machine by Liz Pelly about Spotify and reached my arbitrary 20 books a year deadline early. Just some passages from the final chapter that hit and I wanted to share because it talks about culture under capitalism and the strength of solidarity.

Morgana keeps meowing at me from her tunnel and then scooting back a bit and turning her face away when I immediately look at her like she didn't do it.

Finally watched Devil Wears Prada 2 and I honestly don't think it needs the romcom/love interest. The "meet cute" where the main character openly disses a thing and then the hot stranger turns out to have made the thing and that leads to them dating is such a tired and weird scenario.

I followed Discontinued Foods for a good time, but it's actually become a bit depressing from the knowledge bomb of how long ago that food you remembered as a kid has been out of production for and sorrow you will never taste it again.

Sometimes I'll leave a pan out when I'm done cooking and forget and when the pan is cool, Morgana will sneak up there to lick it. I only know when I hear the patter of her paws jumping down and then she appears, licking her mouth like the most indiscreet bandit.

I'm struck with how rare a layoff statement says so simply "we are losing people who were very important and whose contributions were impactful and will be greatly missed."

I hate being a night owl, because I don't think I'm more productive during the night. I'm just naturally one because I have trouble falling asleep and trouble waking up. Early birds are so correct in that you are more productive when you get up early. 🫠

Apologizing to colleagues for how unchill I am about my anti-AI stance while never budging from exactly how anti-AI I am.

Learning people are cheating in Meccha Chameleon by screenshotting so they can "print" an image onto their bodies is unsurprising but so depressing. It's the whole point of the game and also the stakes are so low. You can have fun without winning. 🙃

Not to argue against educated haters; I think it's good to be able to narrow down & make a case for why you don't like it, but I also think it's okay to just hate a thing because it's not your taste. Not everything has to be moral high ground. Subjective taste doesn't have to be an argument to win.

I started this top and all the comments on the pattern talked about it taking forever. Seems this is because it's knit on small 3mm needles. It does take quite a while to get length, but I don't knit because it's fast and I really like how the smaller knit looks.

Just having this creature sleeping like this next to me as I do stuff, ups my enjoyment of whatever I'm doing by a billion percent.

Glasses that record aren't really a new concept and privately recording has always been seen as creeper activity. It sucks that it's only taken seriously when famous people say it. Everyone should have the right to not be privately filmed.
