Z-list Actor / Writer / Father / Cube Enthusiast 🇨🇦 🇪🇸 Hates social media but is attempting to social media (poorly). I've been blocked by a dictionary so apparently I'm terrible at social media. I yell @ stupid people here. 🍁 We Stand On Guard for Thee 🍁

This is how I feel about KPop. I actively reject it because it is specifically manufactured tripe designed to appeal to the most global markets for maximum revenue. It is the antithesis of art. And the industry basically flat out told us that was the goal. "The Hallyu Wave". They wanted US money.

Charybdis Goatse

poptimism was an op by the music industry. pop fucking sucks and if people dug even the tiniest bit deeper than charli, taylor, and whoever the latest disney-owned lab grown starlet is their lives would be a thousand times richer

I blame Apple for a lot of this. They were the first company I really loathed for telling us what we wanted instead of listening to consumers. They paved the way for a lot of other companies to follow and tell us we want these things we in fact do not want.

I DO NOT WANT AI. I WANT A PRODUCT THAT WORKS OUT OF THE BOX.

I often think this about a lot of things. I wonder if there was a point where we were just too close to solving a lot of problems so we — as a collective — just started creating more problems for ourselves because why not? Maybe we were bored? Was life not hard enough?

Chris Kluwe

Like, what problem is this meant to solve? Are maps *too* accurate?

I'm so glad we threw the @ndp.ca into a meat grinder so that @mark-carney.bsky.social could take meetings with fucking fascists. What's that parable about Nazi bars?

Days after Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke publicly supported the idea that pensioners and the poor should lose their right to vote — and the wealthy should have extra votes — Elon Musk called him a "national treasure." But that's not all. Lutke also has the ear of Canada's prime minister. Here's proof:

I'm absolutely positive the people at Postmedia had to look up the definition of "standards" before typing that reply.

Luke LeBrun

Received this bizarre email out of the blue yesterday from National Post columnist Adam Zivo gloating over my former colleague's layoff notice I'd like to thank Postmedia for looking into it and issuing this statement clarifying Zivo is expected to uphold professional standards for employee conduct

My experiences in the comic and acting industries were vastly different. The least supportive, most cutthroat were within the industries. Most of the friendlier, supportive people have always been outside, on the peripherals. Probably why I didn't "make it" in either; I wasn't cutthroat enough.

Johanna T 👻 🧙

All this to say: if you make friends in comics (or any entertainment industry) for the sole purpose of using that friendship to leverage yourself into gigs or projects, people will clock that insincerity FAST. It’s a small industry, and people talk.

I've said this before: I think we made a mistake not photographing the bodies. When the Allies documented the Holocaust, they were ordered to document EVERYTHING because they knew people would try to deny it. And look where we are today. We should have done the same with COVID.

Bill Grueskin

Running out of body bags, using forklifts to transfer corpses into makeshift morgues, a mortician conducting 200 funerals in a month when he usually does 30, crematories running at double capacity… And these senators just want to memory-hole it all www.nytimes.com/2020/04/30/n...

Yeah, this is a major problem. I'm working for a business that's looking to open a new store and my boss is 100% on using Shopify because there's literally nothing else remotely close to competitive with the level of integration they have. There is huge downside for a business to not use Shopify.

Ryan Robinson

The problem as I understand it (not a small business owner) is that there aren't a lot of other options that are remotely as good, and it costs a lot to have your own in-house developer to make something custom and assume all the security risks that come with payment processing.

My uncle believes this grand conspiracy theory that Carney has his money invested in Trump banks & projects and therefore is indebted to him. I just think Carney is another right-wing rich guy making choices to make him more money at the expense of the peons. Sometimes both theories look correct.

Blayne Haggart

Imagine the money Carney could save if he simply bit the bullet, shuttered Parliament and outsourced every single policy decision to Trump and his cronies. It's redundant to have a supposedly independent Parliament that's simply going to be overruled by Trump's viceroy if it steps out of line.

Great story if you ever wanted to know what clouds taste like. I went to the top of the Empire State Building many times when I was living in NYC. One of my favourite places to go to. But I'm mad it never occurred to me to go when it was overcast.

Adam P Knave

Someone asked how I would know they're flavorless. And I have an answer! Growing up in NY one thing you do is touristy stuff at weird times. I would often, when I was younger, go up to the 72nd observation deck of the ESB at night, when it was cloudy, BECAUSE it was...

I had completely forgotten about these super cringe ads until I watched the World Cup on TSN and when one came on I was like: "Jesus Christ, how did I ever tolerate these before?" Then I switched over to Telemundo and never went back to the English channels.

AH-HAHAHA! Ontario government: "I didn't get what I wanted, so you peons won't get what you wanted! Nyah Nyah!" I cannot stress enough that Ontarians absolutely deserve this. Serves us right for voting for this government four times.

Absolutely fuck this fascist fuck and I really hope Carney voters are contacting their elected representatives to say something about how Carney is working off of this fascist's ideas. No, seriously Liberal voters, you voted for this. This is on you.
