my other Hadestown story is that I was walking around DC with a Hadestown shirt on one time and a stranger scootering by stopped, parked the scooter, and then started talking to me about how much they loved the musical when they saw it last year. One of few shows that earns that kind of fanbase.

yes! They had each of the language experts talk a bit about the translation choices and then read the passage in the translated language (including both ancient and modern Greek)

Also went to a Library of Congress event where they read from a bunch of historical translations of the Odyssey in Arabic/Portuguese/Danish/ and like 10 other languages, plus displayed a bunch of historical translations
