Nobody needs to explain this to me, for the record. I am content to imagine that he's just out there pulling towels off bananas and saying "VOILA!" I do not live in NYC and have no need to know what it's grocery policies are.

It's 7:06 AM, I've barely had my coffee, and I have seen that picture of Zohran Mamdani holding a banana cross my feed 20 times. I know it's something about NYC grocery stores, but he looks like he is producing a Banana from nothing, like some sort of dark fruit-magician.

Hearing the new Katseye song and thinking briefly “this kinda sounds like Ed Sheeran’s writing” and the first comment on the YouTube video from a fan is “Ed Sheeran didn’t let us down!” Dudes got a signature. Anyway Animal is a hell of a bop.

Like obviously these settings have been popular for a long time, but they’re truly experiencing insane growth right now and I think this is at least part of the reason.

My pet theory is that this is (a small) part of the reason for the surge of popularity in settings like Warhammer40k and other similarly satirical places. When you posit a reality so apocalyptically awful that everything is already wildly problematic, this sort of criticism bounces easily off it.

This is where I apologize to @lzats.bsky.social for having such a scatterbrain these last two years and lurching violently from thing to thing.

-A Scifi/Fantasy romance featuring a pair of arranged-marriage space nobles. Has Magical Powered Armor & Crabbits, which are exactly what they sound like. -A family drama about a trio of siblings trying to decide who will inherit their dad's demon-hunting business. -Paladin Executioner Has Angst.

I think the main thing pundits are missing is that most people don’t actually vote on issues. They vote on do they like the person, and then adopt the issues of the person they like. And nothing makes you less likable than a platform that you believe in because of polls.

My wife is almost done with her blue lions playthru of Fire Emblem 3 Houses and she keeps referring to Sylvain as her “emotional support fuckboy” and I’m dying.

I passed a road-sign that said “you will never find peace and respite without Jesus Christ” I somehow misread it as “you will never find peace and respite, fucking Christ.” TOO REAL, SIGN.

Most days I am completely ambulatory without need for an aid, but every so often my back or my foot will just decide to say fuck you, and out comes the cane. Just a reminder that no matter how ordinary someone looks, abledness is neither constant nor consistent. Do whatcha need and don’t judge.

I try not to quote my kids here but you all need to know that one of them just said “your evil laugh sounds better on paper” and I may never sleep again.
