Looking for a POSTDOC to work on jumbo phages (those with large genomes and fascinating cell biology), using our latest ASO technology (Gerovac M et al. 2025 Nature) to define RNA export mechanisms as well as to help to advance phage therapy. Here's the job ad.

I feel very honoured, indeed. This order is restricted to 100 living scientists and artists, with an impressive list of past recipients.

The Helmholtz RNA & Infection building getting ever more interesting, with the staircase unfolding. So many different levels, it looks a bit like downtown Bangkok to me, if you know what I mean.

First trip to the beer garden by the river with the lab and friends of the lab this year. Mixed feelings because it’s the farewell of Suyen Espinoza who’s leaving for a new job with a great pharmaceutical company. It’s hard to let go of her for many reasons, my first postdoc ever from Nicaragua!
