I see 4th July has brought firework takes back round so I’m once again going to say that while almost everything say people shouldn’t be allowed to buy the things there’s little I enjoy more than the chaos of standing in the middle of a housing estate on Bonfire Night as the world explodes.

I’ve been very late to this but I just finished The Handmaid’s Tale TV show, which is an absolute masterpiece of storytelling. There were two points in particular I wanted to walk away because I didn’t think they could possibly keep up the momentum, and at both of them I’m glad I did.

One of my petty hates js when people speaking on behalf of an organisation that has some sort of rule open with “unfortunately” before describing the consequences. You set the rule, there’s no misfortune going on here so just step up and own it.
