Solar panels have become really cheap, it's surprising. If you don't consider going fully independent from the grid, which is more expensive, considering battery costs, etc, installing solar panels for homes is now actually very cost effective in terms of lowering your bill.

I'm not against data centers, but I think building them must have conditions placed that protect the surroundings, and also have necessary plans to not adversely affect the lives of the citizens nearby. While this would drive costs up, it wouldn't drive them so much as to become unsustainable.
