Absolutely shook at the news of Glen Hansard passing. The man gave so much to music here in Ireland and around the world. I had two magical nights, one in Copenhagen, and another in London, with this man, his music, and audiences silently smiling ear to ear. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Wondering if humanity has now collectively spent more on “AI” than we have, cumulatively, on climate change mitigation. Maybe I should ask an AI.

Please make it make sense: A 16-year-old will be able to drive a tractor or 90km/h+ light motorcycle, but not a scooter locked to 20km/h -- This is classic performative politics of the likes seen by now former Prime Minister Keir Starmer, which just ends up annoying everybody....

One wonders why they think this “ban” will be more effective than all the others. With zero enforcement, already illegal e-scooters are everywhere. The problem isn’t in the legislation.

If we subsidise the infrastructure there’s absolutely no reason why the price should be higher than a home connection. This is a HUGE blocker to many people who cannot charge a car at home.

Idea… when @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social hosts concerts in their parks, like tonight’s David Byrne gig, and when the promoter urges people to bike… Provide hundreds and hundreds of bike parking spaces. Make them highly visible. Right by the entrance. And advertise them with the tickets.

I genuinely don’t know how - every year - Bloom gets away with turning the Phoenix Park into a giant car park for the whole weekend. Maybe if you keep on saying how sustainable a venture it is, no one will notice that parking provision covers as much space as the festival area itself!

I swear there should be a website where you can anonymously share the names of building contractors who swindle their customers. A live database. A grassroots regulator for an Irish industry that badly needs it.
