I was getting breakfast with a colleague (at Clemson!) the day after a book talk, he was chatting with our server, a young woman who had just graduated. He had never met her before, but didn't hesitate to say "I'm so proud of you" and it caught me off guard, but in retrospect, it rocks.

Nothing now, just doesn’t take a huge leap of faith to imagine a near-distant future where hotels or companies don’t want to do this and the administration says they have to because of national security or whatever. I think mostly it went from impossible to imagine to very easy.
