Happy to see Douthat moving to television. I don't read the NYT anymore, but enough blueskiers still do that I keep seeing his bad takes reposted on the skyline. Hopefully that will stop once he's at 60 Minutes — NOBODY I follow watches CBS.

Any woman who runs for U.S. president will have to carefully calibrate her level of opposition to genocide between Hillary Clinton (too much, got called a warmonger) and Kamala Harris (not enough, got called a mass murderer) if she wants to make people come up with a new pretext for not voting.

The main difference between the two factions is that liberals hate leftists, whereas leftists hate liberals. Presumably they have different policy preferences as well, though I can't say what those might be having never seen either side actually espouse one.
