I avoided it for awhile, but I stopped being willing to keep my salary low while working with bigots, and had to leave. I probably have fewer than 10 friends from grad school who are still in Louisiana.

After college, I saw my friends & family pack up, one by one, and move tf out of Louisiana. I understood it then. I understand it even more now. You can be down for the cause and also choose not to raise your family in the perpetually worst state in the country.
