We are constantly told that bad news about biodiversity losses just turns people off But my feeling is that the obsession with good news conservation stories can breed complacency We need positive stories but set against the massive ongoing destruction of nature

Academics working on carbon capture tech or geoengineering may genuinely believe they are doing something useful But they need to be really, really careful that their research does not give the fossil fuel industry & governments excuses to delay reducing GHG emissions All science is political
