Many such cases.

This is a crisis of federalism. Tim Walz is asserting as fact that Iran attacked water infrastructure in Minnesota and several other states. And Trump is saying it's Minnesota's own fault they were attacked as part of a war he started.

We’ve seen it so often: Trump declares that Iran has agreed to exactly what he wants. A confused pause follows. Iran does what it wants instead. Trump accuses them of breaking their word. The cycle repeats; Trump doesn’t seem to know any other negotiating tactics.

Trump on Iran: "They always want to talk but they break their word so often…All they do is make me angry."

I have some reason to believe that the first audiences of Anton Mesmer were filled with Jansenists, religious zealots who were already well disposed to see miracles. I suspect that hypnosis as we now understand it has religious origins.

What's your personal great white whale of an unsolved mystery? The thing you desperately hope is solved before you die because you need to know the answer? Mine is the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum heist. Where the hell are the Rembrandts. I need the full story

How can a society survive uncontrolled mass migration? Uncontrolled mass migration is how we were created. Immigrants are proof that we're winning. Other countries should be so lucky to have "problems" like these.

Squishiness on trans rights is a dealbreaker for me because (a) it’s a straightforward issue of personal freedom and bodily autonomy much like abortion, and (b) the right is obviously coming after us cis gays next.

So... about this study. I think we do learn some valuable lessons from it. I also think that we shouldn't take conservative voters' self-reports of their moral foundations at face value. I think everyone is a little self-serving when they self-report, and conservatives are no different.🧵

I like how my authors are taking out their em dashes lately. I know when they’re appropriate. I apply them always and only where needed.

Authors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. There's even an “anti-Grammarly" app that leaves in typos and signs off "sent from my iPhone" to create more authenticity: www.wired.com/story/more-t...
